Delivered in partnership with Hartford HealthCare, the New Careers in Nursing program offers a part-time, two-year pathway for working professionals to earn your BSN. The program welcomes qualified applicants to work at Hartford HealthCare while acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to provide holistic care for diverse populations across the lifespan.
Program Overview
Hartford HealthCare has partnered with Quinnipiac University to develop a BS in Nursing program to enable qualified HHC colleagues with a bachelor’s degree in a different field or at least 60 credits from an accredited institution to transition toward a career in nursing. Participants will complete a part-time approved and accredited program over the course of two years while maintaining employment with HHC.
-
Students who start in March 2026 will graduate with a BSN in May 2028.
-
Students will take between 4.5 - 12 credits per semester.
-
Classes and labs will take place in the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI) at Hartford Hospital.
-
Classes and clinicals are held two days per week.
From the time of graduation until the end of the two-year work commitment, you must remain employed with Hartford HealthCare for a minimum of 24 standard hours per week. Upon graduation, passing the NCLEX and becoming a registered nurse, colleagues will be extended a conditional offer for a full-time (at least 36 standard hours) RN position in direct patient care. Participants are required to work as an RN for HHC for 2-years post-graduation. Participation in the program or being offered an RN position does not change your status as an at-will employee or otherwise guarantee employment or benefits, including the benefits of this program.
