Visit the School of Computing & EngineeringOur Dual-Degree Bachelor’s/Master’s (4+1) program gives ambitious students a major professional advantage, enabling them to earn both a bachelor’s degree in four years and a master’s in cybersecurity, computer science or business administration in just one additional year.

At the School of Computing & Engineering, we have designed dual-degree programs of study that build a versatile foundation and prepare students for near-immediate career success at the intersection of business and technology in the public or private sector.
Combining an engineering or computer science degree with a Master of Business Administration, an MS in Computer Science, MS in Cybersecurity, or an MS in Informatics makes you immediately more desirable to hiring managers. As you hone your ability to manage teams and solve problems from a business and a technical perspective, you'll open up new paths to ascend the corporate ladder and increase your lifetime earning potential.
The national average pay for cybersecurity professionals is over $131,000 (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 2022).
Students in the dual-degree program are able to combine a number of undergraduate majors with either a Master of Science in Cybersecurity, a Master of Science in Computer Science, a Master of Science in Informatics or a Master of Business Administration.
During the BA or BS in Computer Science portion of your program, you will become proficient with leading industry hardware and software systems. You will also gain access to systems running Windows and Linux, allowing you to acclimate yourself to different operating systems and working environments within our state-of-the-art computer science labs.
By adding an MS in Computer Science on top of your undergraduate degree, students will delve deeper into the theoretical and applied nature of computing as they explore both core classes and elective courses. Graduates of this dual-degree pathway are prepared to take on a wide range of opportunities from IT development and data analytics to project management, entrepreneurial endeavors and future doctoral study.
Students pursuing a BS in Software Engineering will master such skills as coding, system design, quality assurance and testing. Our expert faculty will teach you to manage projects and think creatively, effectively preparing you for a career as a programmer or software developer. Coursework will cover a host of topics including design and development, cryptography, artificial intelligence and robotics.

Our curriculum is hands-on with a strong emphasis on the fields of manufacturing, healthcare and supply chain. Students are encouraged to tailor their studies within one of our three optional concentrations in Automation Systems and Robotics, Healthcare Systems Engineering or Ergonomics and Human Factors.

The National Security Agency and a committee of academic peers have validated Quinnipiac University's Master of Science in Cybersecurity programs through the 2027 academic year. As a validated program, the MS in Cybersecurity serves the nation well, contributes to the protection of the national information infrastructure and addresses the critical shortage of professionals with cybersecurity skills.

Quinnipiac student Hephzibah Rajan ’23, a computer science major from Muscat, Oman, has been named the 2023 National Engineering Intern Student of the Year by the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE).
The award is presented by the Cooperative and Experiential Education Division of the ASEE. Rajan was recognized for her summer internship with CVS/Aetna.
“I interned with Aetna over the summer after my junior year,” Rajan said. “Initially, I worked on code maintenance which in simple terms is reading code and making sure that each line was being run. I was essentially increasing code coverage. Over time, I started picking up other tasks as well. I learned about their machine-learning models and was also able to propose an alternative method for one of their projects with the help of my mentor."
Our Living-Learning Community offers the opportunity for first-year students to live and engage in a community of like-minded peers. Bolstered by mentorship from faculty and staff, this community provides a strong foundation for students to develop — both academically and personally — into professionals, leaders, citizens and lifelong learners.
The Engineering and Computer Science LLC is for new students in the School of Computing & Engineering interested in building academic skills, community and friendship. This LLC emphasizes hands-on activities and helps support members to become more engaged students who understand how to make a difference at QU and in the world.
