This ABA-approved Minor in Legal Studies provides you with the knowledge and skills you’ll need to be successful in the paralegal profession. Students will learn the theory behind laws and how they are made and earn a Certificate in Legal Studies that demonstrates their preparedness for the legal field.
An ABA-Approved Introduction to Legal Studies
Our Minor and Certificate in Legal Studies program is approved by the American Bar Association as a paralegal program. While there is no official licensure or certification to become a paralegal, students receive a certificate that demonstrates their completion of a program that meets the rigorous standards of the ABA for paralegal education.
In this program, you’ll analyze legal problems, conduct research and write a properly formatted legal memo and other correspondence. You will hone your written and oral communication skills and be able to present a coherent, well-supported legal argument.
The minor is planned and taught by lawyers to provide students with a solid grounding in the fundamentals of the legal system. A combination of classwork and real-world experience prepares legal studies certificate students for a broad range of professional opportunities.
