Anthropology is an ideal field for anyone interested in learning about people, cultures and beliefs. Anthropologists are curious about what makes us human. In this minor, you’ll investigate the differences and similarities of cultures — those in existence today and those from our past.
Unearth the past while answering the questions of the future
In your courses, you’ll explore what we can learn from people cross-culturally, from our ancestors and from our primate relatives. Anthropology also teaches you to think about the big questions of our time: environmental well-being, relations between various groups, forms of inequality and how an understanding of our past is critical for envisioning a more equitable future.
Studying anthropology offers students important training in persuasive writing, scientific research, data analysis and critical thinking. This minor offers excellent preparation for any career, and students with the minor have found careers in medicine, public health, international aid and education, and public policy.
