Connect brain science to the molecular level

Before we can address the most challenging neurological and health conditions of our time, we need to understand their root causes at the molecular and cellular levels. Our 4+1 dual-degree pathway enables motivated students in behavioral neuroscience (BNS) to complete a bachelor's degree and the MS in Molecular and Cell Biology in five years, pairing advanced laboratory skills with a deep understanding of behavior and the brain.

From the neural circuitry of behavior to the molecular machinery inside cells, this dual-degree pathway immerses you in cutting-edge science across multiple scales. Through a blend of rigorous coursework, hands-on research and exposure to industry trends, you’ll be equipped to translate discoveries in the lab into meaningful applications in healthcare, biotechnology and neuroscience.

You’ll establish a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, physics and neuroscience, then advance into graduate‑level coursework and research techniques used across biotechnology, biopharma and academic labs. Connecticut’s vibrant bioscience ecosystem creates opportunities for internships, research collaborations and guest lectures from industry scientists.
