Keynote Speaker: Ralph DiLeone

Ralph DiLeone
Ralph DiLeone,
Professor of Psychiatry and Neuroscience at Yale School of Medicine.
“Decoding Exercise Drive: Mouse Wheel Running Behavior and the Modulatory Role of GLP-1 Agonists”

Ralph DiLeone is Professor of Psychiatry and of Neuroscience at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. DiLeone’s lab investigates the molecular and neural circuits that drive reward-related behavior, with a focus on how the brain regulates eating and its role in obesity. Dysregulation of these processes contributes to conditions such as eating disorders, addiction, and depression. By identifying key molecules and neural pathways that link metabolic signals to behavior, the lab aims to uncover fundamental mechanisms underlying motivation and decision-making. Research projects explore how the hypothalamus and peripheral metabolic signals interact with brain regions that control motivated behavior. Additionally, the lab develops cutting-edge tools to advance the study of neural plasticity and animal behavior at the molecular and cellular levels.
