Our CAS360 advising platform is based on the idea that every experience you have can influence your academic journey and your career. The process of exploration, implementation and reflection is central to the idea of 360-degree advising.
Each experience becomes a point of learning that helps you evaluate your development as a student and as a person, understand your values, interests and goals, and make informed choices about your academic and career options during your time here and beyond. As your academic journey progresses, these experiences become the core of your professional story as well.

The College of Arts & Sciences takes an integrated and interdisciplinary approach that combines knowledge, skills and perspectives from across the humanities, arts, social and natural sciences. Why? So that our students become adaptable, versatile and have the ability to find solutions through multiple lenses — traits that are highly valued by employers in every industry.
Psychology majors, for instance, have a unique understanding of human behavior, making them prime candidates for positions in human resources, while English majors obtain a command of language and abilities of persuasion, making them an ideal fit in creative advertising roles. Medical school and laboratory research aren’t the only destinations for biology and chemistry graduates; they are uniquely qualified for jobs in product marketing at biotech and pharmaceutical companies.
Our graduates are not boxed into choosing any one particular job or field. We have a saying: “Study what you like, and the career will follow.” Below are some examples of the interesting paths taken by alumni.
Innovation and Communications Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility at IBM
Behavioral Therapist at The Institute of Professional Practice

We’ll help you discover all of the possibilities and how to build a bridge to them through our individualized advising process. It may mean adding a second major, or a minor, or changing your major altogether. You may embark on an internship or international program that you’d never considered.
What is certain is that at the end of this journey another one will begin, one with many fulfilling and challenging career paths to take.
We offer many opportunities for applied and experiential learning — or putting theory into practice — outside the classroom.
