“The Quinnipiac Class of 2027 was highly engaged this year. In fact, campus visits were up more than 32% over last year’s entering class. This has resulted in more than 1,800 first-year students and 240 new transfer students from 31 states and 19 countries joining us this fall,” said Karissa Peckham, dean of admissions and financial aid. “They bring together an amazing mix of talents, abilities and passions and share a common commitment to community service.”
This year’s class has a strong academic profile with an average GPA of 3.6 and an average SAT score of 1200. It is also the most diverse in university history, with 23.5% identifying as students of color, and about 2% international.
Approximately 95% of the entering class will live in a residence hall on the Mount Carmel Campus.
Nearly 35% of the Class of 2027 is enrolled in one of the university’s 15 first-year Living-Learning Communities, which bring students with similar interests, passions and academic pursuits together in a shared residential environment.
The Class of 2027 also represents continued growth in students beyond Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts, including a 200% increase in enrollment of students from Texas over the past two years; 46% increase in enrollment of students from Maine over the past two years; and a 60% increase in students from Virginia over the past year.
“Our students are also increasingly competitive and well-rounded,” Peckham noted, citing an increase of nearly 25% among honor’s students this year. “We are proud of this class, and look forward to working with these students throughout their time at Quinnipiac and beyond as they undoubtedly accomplish great things.”
