We're Here For You!

Congratulations! You have a lot to be proud of!

You've made it! We are so happy that you chose to make #BobcatNation your home. Quinnipiac is a dynamic, exciting and welcoming community of passionate students, alumni, professors and staff who collectively want to help you succeed. Check out our video welcoming you!

Getting to this point was not easy, and that makes all you have accomplished that much more impressive.

We have the support services you will need to succeed

Starting college can be stressful, but we have resources specifically designed to help you thrive.

Among them:

Hartford HealthCare is Quinnipiac's partner to operate our on-campus Student Health Services. HHC offers a collaborative and coordinated healthcare model and the ability to provide expert consultation to the university on a wide range of campus health issues including student wellness, mental health, athletic training and infection prevention strategies.

Our Office of Counseling Services provides a range of clinical services and mental health support at no cost to undergraduate and graduate students — including evaluations, individual counseling and group therapy. Our counselors are licensed to diagnose and treat a variety of mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, relationship problems, sexual violence, eating disorders, grief and substance abuse. Services are offered through Hartford HealthCare on our campuses.

We put an emphasis on offering amazing opportunities for being active, having fun and living a healthy lifestyle. Our fitness centers offer the right equipment and classes to keep your body and mind operating at peak performance throughout the school year. We also offer team athletics at the intramural, club and Division I levels.

Discover what sets Quinnipiac apart – our Learning Commons. Here, we ensure our students achieve success in every sense of the word, not just in terms of their grades and GPAs. We offer a wealth of academic support services that cater to the diverse needs of all students. With our commitment to your success at the forefront, we provide an immersive learning experience that empowers you to reach your full potential.

What is Bobcat Bound?

Students will receive the Bobcat Bound newsletter each Thursday through the first week of classes. It will help guide you through the process of becoming a Quinnipiac student — from approaching deadlines to opportunities of engagement, involvement and pride. Families will be able to find this information each Friday on the Parents' Portal.

Four Reasons Bobcat Bound is Your Weekly Must-Read Guide to Quinnipiac:

  1. Bobcat Bound delivers weekly, time-sensitive updates so you never miss important deadlines, next steps or university moments that matter as you prepare to arrive at Quinnipiac.

  2. Each issue introduces resources and programs that help you understand not just how Quinnipiac works, but how you can help make it feel like home.

  3. By breaking things down week by week, the newsletter removes guesswork and stress — helping you feel better prepared, supported and excited for what’s ahead.

  4. Bobcat Bound invites you into the Bobcat community early, showing you the experiences you’ll engage with and the people who will support you throughout your Quinnipiac journey.

Be sure to visit Q-Start often

The next couple of months will be busy and a little bit stressful — but that is where Q-Start comes in. It is carefully designed with you in mind. It takes the uncertainty away from the on-boarding process and will let you know what you will need to complete and when. Email qstart@qu.edu with any questions.

Register for June Orientation

We will host six Orientation sessions throughout June to ease your transition to college. They are critical to your success — which is why we require you to attend one of them. The deadline to register is June 2. The sessions are filling up quickly; register today on Q-Start.

Sign your housing contract

The first step in joining the residential community is to complete the housing application. The housing application is available to you on MyHousing, and all residents must have a completed application to receive a room assignment. You can access MyHousing through Q-Start or directly at qu.edu/myhousing.

  • From the MyHousing homepage, click the menu on the top left.

  • Then click "Housing Contracts and Requests" then click "New Student Housing 2026-2027."

  • Then the contract will appear. You will know that you are on the correct page when you see "Welcome Bobcats" with a beautiful picture of Sleeping Giant behind our DOME academic building.

  • Then scroll down while you read the housing contract.

  • Either type your name or use the signature tool at the bottom of that page

  • Click "continue" on bottom.

  • Answer each of the lifestyle questions about your name, contact info, what kind of college experience you would like. Be sure to answer these questions honestly as they will play a key role in determining your roommate match.

  • Please be sure to answer all the questions, even if you plan to choose your own roommate.

  • Click "continue" again.

  • Then provide your emergency contact information. Click on the pencil and enter at least one emergency contact.

  • This is where Yahoo!, OptOnline, MSN, Hotmail and iCloud email accounts often reject the email confirmation. We recommend Gmail or a work email address.

  • Then click "save."

  • You will see the emergency contact information that you entered.

  • Click "continue."

  • Then you will see a graphic indicating that your housing contract has been submitted.

If you are under 18, parent verification of the contract is required. Your parent will receive an email with a code to enter to verify the contract. The verification email is sent immediately after you submit the application.

Once the confirmation has been entered by your parent, the housing contract is done. If you are 18 years or older, no parental verification is needed.

Please email housing@quinnipiac.edu with any questions.

Roommate selection process will begin on June 1. Students will be receiving information to their Quinnipiac email addresses about the process as the date approaches.

When you sign off on the contract, you will be directed to the lifestyle questions that we use to match roommates.

Roommate request portal opens June 1

Incoming first-year students may select one or three roommates. Students choosing three roommates will be assigned as a group in the Commons or Ledges.

Students are encouraged to discuss their answers to the lifestyle questions on the housing application with their potential roommate(s) to help determine if they are compatible and can create a positive living experience.

Roommate requests will be accepted from June 1 through June 28.

All roommate requests must be mutual, which means requested roommate(s) must confirm the request to be assigned together by June 28.

Selecting one roommate does not guarantee assignment in a double room. Roommate pairs may be assigned in quads with another matched roommate pair.

Students participating in the Grove experience or an LLC must choose a roommate from other participants in their program. Students will be notified of their Grove or LLC application status by Tuesday, May 27.

There will be separate roommate selection processes for students in these groups. Grove and LLC requests will supersede roommate requests.

Students who sign up for the Grove or an LLC and plan to pick a roommate that is not in the same program will be matched and assigned with another participant.

Housing assignment and roommate information will be available on MyHousing by August 1.

Email housing@qu.edu or call 203-582-8667 with any questions.

Complete your placement exams

Be sure to complete your placement exams in Canvas prior to Orientation. All students must complete the math placement exam, and any student interested in studying language should take the language placement exam (note that all students in the College of Arts & Sciences must complete six credits of language). Please submit your placement exams two weeks prior to your respective Orientation date so the scores can be processed.

Check your email often

There's a lot of exciting opportunities headed your way this summer — most of which will come through your Quinnipiac email. Be sure to set it up and check it often. We also recommend adding it to your phone.
