Early Decision applicants should file their FAFSA on or before January 15. Applicants are encouraged to file the FAFSA to apply for financial aid as early as possible. Students filing the FAFSA after the March 1 deadline will be offered aid in the order applications are received. |
First-Year and Transfer Applicants |
March 1 |
The Department of Education will begin releasing student FAFSA data to schools in the first half of March. Financial aid offers will be generated in the order that FAFSAs are received. Filing a FAFSA application is not required to receive an academic scholarship. |
Returning Students |
April 1 |
Offer notifications are generated in the order FAFSAs are received, on a rolling basis, beginning in late May and after final grades are posted. |
While we welcome late applications, funding availability is tentative after the prescribed deadlines.
Detailed Timeline for Applying for Financial Aid
It is important to note you must re-apply for financial aid each year if you would like to be re-evaluated for financial assistance. Remember you need to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before the March 1 deadline (incoming students) or the April 1 deadline (returning students) to receive all the financial aid for which you are eligible.

- File the FASFA as early as possible. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open. Applicants are encouraged to file the FAFSA to apply for financial aid as early as possible. - FAFSA forms for early decision applicants must be submitted by January 15.

- Tuition and fees for the coming year are available on the Quinnipiac website. View costs and budgets
- Be prepared to send signed copies of your federal income tax forms and tax transcripts to the university in the event you are selected for verification. Learn more about verification

- FAFSA forms for first-year students must be submitted by March 1 for priority funding.
- Offer notifications are generated for accepted students.
- Students may accept their offers online via the Self-Service portal.

- The One Stop office begins generating fall semester invoices. You will see scholarship, grant and loan awards automatically deducted from your bill.

- Be sure to check Self-Service to ensure all your documents are complete.
- Students who are selected for federal verification need to submit additional forms to avoid delays in funding. Notification of verification was sent to selected students beginning in May, and is reflected in Self-Service. Learn more about verification and submit forms
- Payments begin in July if you have chosen to participate in the Quinnipiac University Payment Plan offered through TOUCHNET. Learn more about payment plans
