Undergraduate Financial Aid
Applying for financial aid does not have to be complicated. On this page, we provide you with step-by-step instructions and information about your eligibility for financial aid.
Please note: The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is scheduled to open on or around December 1. Applicants are encouraged to file the FAFSA to apply for financial aid as early as possible.
Applicant Type | Deadline | Important Information |
Early Decision Applicants | January 15 | Early Decision applicants should file their FAFSA on or before January 15. Applicants are encouraged to file the FAFSA to apply for financial aid as early as possible. Students filing the FAFSA after the March 1 deadline will be offered aid in the order applications are received. |
First-Year and Transfer Applicants | March 1 | The Department of Education will begin releasing student FAFSA data to schools in the first half of March. Financial aid offers will be generated in the order that FAFSAs are received. Filing a FAFSA application is not required to receive an academic scholarship. |
Returning Students | April 1 | Offer notifications are generated in the order FAFSAs are received, on a rolling basis, beginning in late May and after final grades are posted. |
While we welcome late applications, funding availability is tentative after the prescribed deadlines.
All students seeking financial assistance need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online as soon as possible after it opens. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is scheduled to open on or around December 1. Applicants are encouraged to file the FAFSA to apply for financial aid as early as possible.
Quinnipiac's FAFSA code is 001402.
Offer notifications are prepared by the Financial Aid Office and are issued to students to explain the details of the financial aid offer, which may include grants, scholarships, federal student loans and work study.
To cover a remaining balance due to the university, after financial aid has been applied against the invoice, families have the choice of establishing a semester payment plan and/or borrowing from the Federal Direct Parent PLUS loan or a variety of private lenders.
It is important to note you must re-apply for financial aid each year if you would like to be re-evaluated for financial assistance. Remember you need to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) before the March 1 deadline (incoming students) or the April 1 deadline (returning students) to receive all the financial aid for which you are eligible.
