The Future Nursing Leader Scholar Program recognizes select, high-achieving and motivated students who aspire to shape the future of healthcare through leadership, innovation, and compassionate practice.
Students who are admitted to the ABSN program will receive an invitation to apply to the scholar program.
Recipients will receive:
A $10,000 scholarship to support your Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) studies ($2,500 per semester).
Access to extracurricular leadership development opportunities designed to support and strengthen your leadership journey.
The opportunity to take 3 graduate-level credits toward Quinnipiac’s MSN in Nursing Leadership program while completing your BSN, allowing you to graduate with your BSN and three credits already earned toward your MSN.
Guaranteed admission to the MSN in Nursing Leadership program upon graduating from the ABSN in good standing, with no additional application process and no uncertainty.

The School of Nursing admissions committee begins its review of applications in February, with notification of decisions starting in March

Program start date: January 25, 2027 (Spring semester start)
Admission requirements include:
Associate's or Bachelor’s degree (any non-nursing discipline): Graduation from an accredited college or university
GPA: Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (B)
Completion of prerequisite course work: All prerequisite courses must be taken within the last 5 years with a grade of B- or better and must be completed prior to entering the accelerated track.
Anatomy & Physiology I with a lab (4 credits total)
Anatomy & Physiology II with a lab (4 credits total)
Introduction to Psychology (3 credits)
Microbiology with a lab (4 credits total)
Statistics (3 credits)

Our Accelerated BS in Nursing enables students with a bachelor’s degree in another discipline to transition toward a fulfilling career in nursing. Students can choose to start the program in either January or August and will earn their degree in just fifteen months.
Our program concentrates entirely on nursing coursework and practice. The curriculum blends classroom learning on our North Haven Campus with clinical experiences in a variety of settings throughout the state.
All students in the ABSN program receive personalized support from the School of Nursing faculty and staff. These experienced practitioners are dedicated to healthcare excellence and equity and give you the tools to become an integral member of a healthcare team and a transformational leader in the field.
