This journey is for you, too. Whether you live around the corner or in a remote corner of the globe, you are part of the Bobcat family.
We know the decision to send your child to study at Quinnipiac is a huge commitment from you, and our goal is to be as transparent as possible with the need-to-know information you're looking for.
Check back often for up-to-date news, events and contact information for resources across campus.
The start of the semester has been cold and snowy, but the welcome for our future president was certainly warm. We recently announced to faculty, staff, and students that Dr. Marie Hardin, professor and dean of Pennsylvania State University’s Bellisario College of Communications, will be the 10th president at Quinnipiac starting in July. University clubs and organizations are in full swing, promoting peak student engagement. I hope your Bobcat attended the indoor spring engagement fair that took place earlier this month. The next "Talks on the Rocks" event is scheduled for March 4, with the topic of discussion being the implementation of common hour.
As we continue to transition from winter to spring sports, athletic games continue to draw record crowds. I am still tossing T-shirts to students in the student section at select home hockey/other games. Join me this weekend for the last home games of our men’s ice hockey season, with matches against Yale on Friday and Brown on Saturday.
Every year, I collaborate with our MBA students from the consulting course to find resolutions and/or more efficient procedures for their assigned topics. I meet with the students throughout the semester as they finalize their deliverables, and at the end of the semester, they present their findings. The topics for this semester are:
Recommendations to improve the student housing lottery process.
Recommendations to enhance The Grove experience.
Recommendations on the action plan from the results of the student response to the Campus Climate Survey.
This month, I hosted the annual Mid-Atlantic High School Guidance Counselor visit to continue expanding our footprint along the East Coast. Counselors from North Carolina, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, among others, came to campus to discuss trending topics for high schoolers and rising college students. If anyone is interested in more information, please let me know.
As always, should you have any questions or need guidance on assisting your student with an issue, please feel free to contact us at QUParents@qu.edu. Thanks for your continued support.
A group of Quinnipiac students studying abroad in Ireland traveled to England for a rugby match where they scored a chance to meet Olympic alumna Ilona Maher '18, showcasing their Bobcat spirit on an international stage.
From meeting in a student club or organization or on the shuttle, love can be found on any corner of our campuses. Here are just a few of the stories of our alumni who found their forever partner while attending Quinnipiac.

Housing and Residential Life Updates
Dear Bobcat Parents,
Below you will find a copy of the letter your student received about room selection for the 2025-2026 academic year. We look forward to having your student on campus next year.
The Office of Housing is excited to announce the Sophomore and Junior Housing Selection Processes for the 2025-2026 academic year.
To participate, simply sign the Housing Contract and pay the non-refundable Housing Reservation Fee of $500. As you know, living in university-owned housing provides you with opportunities to live close to your friends and classes, participate in study groups, gain easy access to programs/activities and receive 24-hour support from Housing & Residential Life staff.
Review and Sign the Fall 2025 / Spring 2026 Housing Contract (full year contract)
Pay a $500 non-refundable Housing Reservation Fee
3-Year Housing Requirement: All undergraduate students are required to live in Quinnipiac housing for their first 3 years. If you are required to live on campus and do not participate in the selection process, you will be financially responsible for the room and board charges for both fall and spring semesters.
Housing Selection Overview
Selection Numbers: A selection number will be randomly assigned to each student who has paid the non-refundable $500 Housing Reservation Fee and agreed to the Housing Contract by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 21, which is the deadline to participate in this Housing Selection Process.
Selection numbers will be posted on MyHousing on Thursday, March 27, after 2 p.m.
Assignments/Selection: Based on availability, students will have the option of selecting individual rooms or selecting an entire living unit. Students in partially filled units will be consolidated. Students can form single gender groups or mixed gender groups.
Note: Students participating in the housing selection process who do not choose a room by the end of the process will have a room assigned to them by the Office of Housing.
Gender Inclusive Housing
Students in mixed gender, gender inclusive, groups will participate in the Gender Inclusive Housing Process. Quinnipiac is committed to attempting to provide enough beds to accommodate all the students interested in Gender Inclusive Housing. Students participating in this selection process will choose from a list of available spaces that have been predetermined in a designated area. The deadline for forming a gender inclusive roommate group is March 28. We encourage participants in gender inclusive housing to form groups that will fill entire suites / apartments. Students in partially filled apartments will be consolidated. Please note: By participating in the gender inclusive housing process and/or selecting a gender inclusive space, you are agreeing to live with a student of any gender.
Sophomore Housing in The Grove
A limited number of rising sophomore students are invited to apply to live in The Grove and participate in the co-curricular experience working on a year-long project working with faculty and student mentors to develop a "big idea." As a group of students, they will make real-world connections to the community to advance their understanding and their thinking about their idea of interest. Participation in the Grove experience is required for sophomore housing in The Grove. Rising sophomores may apply to participate in the Grove program. Students who apply and are selected for this role will reside in The Grove and will not be eligible to participate in Sophomore Housing Selection. Applications for Sophomore Grove housing are due March 1.
Housing Selection for Sophomore Housing Selection will be on April 7 and 8.
Sophomore Housing options include: The Hill, The Village, Sahlin, Bakke, Founders, Larson, Perlroth, Troup and Crescent.
Medical Accommodation
Students seeking a medical accommodation for housing should complete the accommodation request form. This form must be completed by your physician and submitted to the Office of Student Accessibility by email at access@quinnipiac.edu. Requests for medical accommodations must be submitted by March 1 for consideration prior to the room selection process. Students are required to renew their accommodations with OSA each year. Please note submission of an accommodation form does not guarantee students the building/room/room type of their choice.
Meal Plans
All residential students are required to have a meal plan. Students living in residence halls on campus will default to the Platinum plan, but can change to the Silver, Gold, Platinum+ or Diamond plans. Students living in Whitney Village will be assigned the Bronze plan with the opportunity to upgrade their plan.
Additional Information
Housing Reservation Fees and Housing Contracts will be accepted on MyHousing. To complete the Housing Contract and pay the housing reservation fee, please select the “Housing Requests and Contracts” tab, then select "Housing Contract.” After completing the contract, you will be directed to the online payment portal.
You will not receive a selection number unless you have agreed to the Housing Contract and paid the $500 housing reservation fee. Please note the reservation fee can be paid by credit card (service fee applies) or electronic check (no additional cost).
Once you have completed the application process, you will be able to select roommates. Click on the “Room Selection” tab, then “Select Roommates/Suitemates.” You will only be able to select others who have completed the Housing Contract and paid the $500 Housing Reservation Fee. Roommate selection for single gender groups will remain open throughout the selection process. Students forming gender inclusive groups must be fully matched by noon on March 29.
If you have any questions about the Housing Selection Process, our staff are available in the Office of Housing in the Student Affairs Center behind the Bobcat Den. We are open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
We are excited to have you live on campus next year!

We hope this message finds you well. As we continue to enhance our campus services, we would like to inform you of some important protocols regarding package deliveries. Please read the following guidelines carefully to ensure smooth and efficient handling of your mail and packages:
Unified Address for All Deliveries: All mail and packages should be addressed to 275 Mount Carmel Avenue, Hamden, regardless of your office, residence hall, or housing location. Please do not use 305 Sherman Avenue for mail or package deliveries.
Use Your Official Name: Ensure that the name on your mail or packages matches the name you used with Admissions at the time of your application. Unless you have updated your name with the Registrar’s Office, this is the only name Mail Services recognizes. Avoid using nicknames, screen names or pet names.
Include Your Mail Services Code (MSC): Always include your uniquely assigned Mail Services Code (MSC) on each envelope and package. This code helps us accurately identify the recipient, especially for students with similar names.
Plan for Weekends and Holidays: Mail Services is closed on weekends and university holidays. Please plan your deliveries accordingly, as locating packages delivered during these times can be challenging if they are not delivered to Mail Services on the Mount Carmel campus.
Official Receiving Location: The Mail Services office on the Mount Carmel campus is the designated receiving location for all mail and packages. The locker locations in the student centers are not equipped or staffed to handle deliveries, particularly outside their operating hours.
Prompt Package Pickup: Please heed Mail Services delivery notifications and pick up your mail and packages promptly to avoid any inconvenience.
Third-party delivery companies: We strongly encourage you to use companies that have trusted experience and knowledge of Quinnipiac delivery protocols (FedEx, UPS, USPS, DHL, OnTrac and Amazon). Others have not been successful in following our hours of operation and location for mail delivery. This could lead to loss of a package.
Students should not meet drivers for pick-ups: There have been cases where delivery drivers have not been consistent in their delivery of packages. Avoid non-insured companies that cannot be verified for delivery. Additionally, these companies are not allowed on campus for deliveries.
Thank you for your attention to these guidelines. By following these protocols, you will help ensure that all deliveries are handled efficiently and securely. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mail Services.

Student Accounts
Students registered for the January and Spring 2025 terms must have paid their balance or set up a payment plan by December 17. There is still time to sign up for a payment plan and missed installments are due at the time of enrollment. Students with unpaid balances and no payment plan will have holds placed on their accounts and late fees applied.
Please reference the following for assistance as needed:
Students and proxies can visit Self-Service to review the invoice and make a payment.
Self-Service Student Finance Guide provides complete instructions on using Self-Service to set up a proxy, view and pay invoices and set up a payment plan.
As required by the Internal Revenue Service ("IRS"), Form 1098-T is mailed by January 31 to all students who had qualified tuition and other related educational expenses paid during the previous calendar year.
The information reported on Form 1098-T is intended to help students evaluate their eligibility for education tax assistantships as part of their federal income tax return. While it is a good starting point, the 1098-T, as designed and regulated by the IRS, does not contain all of the information needed to claim a tax credit. It is up to each taxpayer to determine eligibility for the credits and how to calculate them. IRS Publication 970 "Tax Benefits for Higher Education" as well as Chapter 35 of IRS Publication 17 provide additional information on these credits.
Outstanding balances result in financial holds and can lead to a late fee charge. A financial hold prevents students from registering for classes, adding or dropping a class, receiving final grades or transcripts and more.
Please reference the following for assistance as needed:
The Self-Service Finance Guide provides complete instructions on using Self-Service to set up a proxy, view and pay invoices and set up a payment plan.
Costs and budgets provide detailed information on tuition and fees.
The Paying for College section provides information to answer most financial aid questions.
Additional questions which are not addressed above, should be directed to One Stop at onestop@qu.edu.
Office of the Registrar (Academic Enrollment and Course Schedules)
Commencement is approaching. If your student is planning to graduate in 2025, please remind them to complete the Graduation Application. This will help ensure that they receive all communication regarding activities leading up to commencement as well as all important information they need to know about the day.
The Graduation Application is located at your students' Self Service under the ‘Graduation Overview.’
First-year students may not bring their vehicle to campus for the Spring term.
Sophomores must park their vehicles in the York Hill Garage.
Juniors, seniors and graduate students should consult the maps which show the parking permit types permitted to park in each lot.
Public Safety enforces all parking rules and regulations and will be ticketing and towing as needed.
Students with three or more unpaid parking violations will have a hold placed on their account and will be subject to towing until the violations are paid in full.
Campus maps will help to identify the lots for which the permit entitles the driver to park.
All students with vehicles on campus must check their email regularly, especially when inclement weather is expected. Students will be asked to move their vehicles during inclement weather to allow facilities to clear parking lots. Students who fail to move their vehicles risk a ticket and tow.
Any questions, please reach out to One Stop Auxiliary Services at parking@qu.edu. Learn more on the parking page of our website.
Our shuttles are here to provide constant, reliable transportation to our students. As with any commute, students should allow themselves ample time to travel to their destination. Students are encouraged to download the Passio GO! app for live mapping of the shuttles.

If your student is experiencing any concerns or issues with the shuttles, please email us at qushuttles@qu.edu.
Title IX and Bias Response
Students, staff and faculty are reminded that reports of sexual misconduct, harassment, intimate partner/dating violence, stalking, bias and discrimination should be made to the Title IX Office and Bias Response Office.

Transition to Graduate School Meetings (Accelerated Dual-Degree and Dual-Degree Students)
Congratulations! Your student has almost completed their undergraduate education here at Quinnipiac University. We are gearing up to meet with students to assist them in planning for and making the transition to their graduate program.
During the fall semester, graduate admissions held the initial "Transition to Graduate School" meeting with students. Katie Ludovico, senior associate director of graduate admissions, explained the admissions process to students and shared the “Transition to Grad School” form, which serves as their application to graduate school at Quinnipiac.
As we kick off the spring semester, we will start to meet with students to complete the "Transition to Graduate School" meetings. These meetings have been scheduled in collaboration with their program directors and/or schools, graduate financial aid, graduate student affairs and graduate admissions.
During this second meeting, the students learn about graduate student life and graduate engagement opportunities from graduate student affairs. Graduate financial aid shares in-depth information on how to finance their graduate education including the costs, timelines and paperwork. All students who attend this session can access the handouts on Blackboard under the "Organization" section they have been invited to join. This allows them to easily share that information with you. These sessions will be conducted by Heather Hamilton, director of graduate financial aid, and Gina Frank, dean of graduate student affairs.
All events have passed, but the make-up date for everyone is Monday, March 3 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., SB-109.
In addition, we are excited to share that your student will be invited to an event on Tuesday, April 8 at 4 p.m. to celebrate their accomplishment in completing their undergrad degree and joining graduate school at Quinnipiac. The provost, chief experience officer, academic deans and faculty will be there to welcome students to grad school. Each student will receive an academic cord to designate them as a dual-degree student who will be entering our graduate programs.
Quinnipiac has launched the first comprehensive fundraising campaign in our history! Titled “For the Ambitious, A Campaign for the Next Century,” this $160 million initiative looks towards the University’s centennial in 2029, and celebrates our legacy of achieving new possibilities.
“We are launching a historic undertaking that will enable us to continue to fuel the ambitions of the change-makers, world-shakers and mold-breakers,” said Nick Wormley ’00, MBA ‘02, vice president for alumni and development. Your students are the reason we strive to always do more.
