Dr. Glennon primarily teaches at the masters and doctoral levels in the OT Department, specifically in the pediatric and research curricular threads, with a specialty in sensory integration and processing. She has authored over 85 publications, most notably co-author of the Sensory Processing Measure - 2nd edition (SPM-2), a norm-referenced assessment tool that systematically assembles information about sensory processing from birth through adulthood. Dr. Glennon routinely includes students in her research endeavors related to sensory integration and processing, and students have published and presented their research findings at the state and national levels.

Tara has dedicated a good portion of her time and energy educating the community and other professionals on the benefits of OT for children. She has a long-standing history of delivering local, state, and national conference presentations on pediatric services and operating a therapy business. In 2002, Dr. Glennon was recognized as a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association (FAOTA) for her Commitment to Professional and Community Education in Pediatrics.

Dr. Glennon's other awards include the 2023 American Journal of Occupational Therapy's (AJOT) Outstanding Reviewer Award; 2017 Virginia Scardina Award of Excellence (AOTF); the 2009 Award of Merit (ConnOTA); 2008 Recognition of Achievement Award (AOTA) for the Sensory Processing Measure: Facilitating School-Based Team Collaboration; and was one of the first occupational therapists in Connecticut (1993) to earn a Board Certification in Pediatrics (BCP), a specialty certification in pediatric occupational therapy intervention from the AOTA.
