Robert Cottrell is the Chair and Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Quinnipiac University. With a specialty in anatomic and autopsy pathology, Robert teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in laboratory medicine and pathology. Passionate about student development, Robert is committed to mentoring aspiring professionals and guiding them toward impactful careers in biomedical sciences and healthcare.
Bringing over 20 years of experience as a Pathologists' Assistant and extensive expertise in anatomic and autopsy pathology, he has a distinguished career rooted in clinical practice, research, and education. Before transitioning to academia, Robert worked in high-volume pathology laboratories, honing skills in surgical & autopsy pathology, and advanced diagnostic techniques. This clinical experience informs Robert's teaching, providing students with real-world insights and a practical foundation for their future careers. At Quinnipiac, he plays a pivotal role in curriculum development, integrating hands-on learning opportunities with a focus on high reliability and critical thinking. Beyond the classroom, he has contributed significantly to program development and student success initiatives, fostering a culture of academic excellence and professional growth.
