Rajintha M Bandaranayake

Rajintha Bandaranayake, Ph. D., is a Teaching Professor of Biochemistry in the Chemistry and Physical Sciences Department. He received his Ph. D. from the University of Massachusetts, where he studied drug resistance in HIV-1 protease. Dr. Bandaranayake completed his postdoctoral training at the Skirball Institute of Biomolecular Medicine at NYU, where his research focused on the structure and function of Jak-2 kinase. He has been a faculty member of the Department of Chemistry and Physical Sciences at QU since 2014.

Dr. Bandaranayake currently coordinates and teaches the Biochemistry I Lab course (CHE315L). Other teaching areas include Biochemistry I lecture (CHE315), and the Chemistry Integrated Capstone course (CHE420).
