Maria Cusson PT, JD is the Director of Clinical Education for the Physical Therapy Program at Quinnipiac University. She earned a BS in Physical Therapy and an MS in Allied Health from the University of Connecticut and a Juris Doctor from the Quinnipiac University School of Law where she served as an editor of the Law Review; she was admitted to the Connecticut Bar Association. in 2001.
She has served as a member of the University Senate, Senate Executive Committee, and Senate Policies Committee and as a chair of the Clinical Education and Compliance Committee for the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, and Health Sciences. She has helped to develop and implement policies for faculty and students across all schools and programs.
Professor Cusson Is an instructor for PT 671, 781, and 782 (full time clinical experiences) as well as Clinical Education Seminar PT 517. She is the faculty advisor for Camp No Limits, College Days, which is a camp for children with limb differences and their families. Her research interests include topics related to clinical education, clinical learning, and legal issues. She recently was a presenter for the ACAPT webinar entitled Contemporary Legal Issues in Physical Therapy Clinical Education.
