The Gabriel Ferrucci Prof of Business Analytics and Info Sys

Dr. Kiku Jones fosters a welcoming and dynamic learning environment. As The Gabriel Ferrucci Professor of Business Analytics and Information Systems at Quinnipiac University (QU), she is known for her leadership in inclusive education, workforce development, and emerging technologies. With a strong focus on real-world application, she prepares students to become data-driven, socially conscious leaders equipped to navigate today's complex business landscape. She actively supports students in embracing their authentic, intersectional identities and using their voices to drive meaningful change. Her commitment to excellence in teaching has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Mayo Excellence in Teaching Award from the College of Business at The University of Tulsa (2008), the CIS Professor of the Year from QU's CIS Society (2014, 2015, and 2016), Excellence in Teaching Award from QU's Center for Excellence (2017), Faculty Service to Students Award from the School of Business (2025), the Outstanding Faculty Award from the Student Government Association (2025), and the Women of Innovation Award in the Academic Innovation & Leadership - Post Secondary category from the Connecticut Technology Council (2025).
Dr. Jones is a champion for equity and systemic change in the workforce. She served as Co-Director of the M&T Bank Center for Women & Business (2018–2022). She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the ACE Women's Network–Connecticut, advancing women's leadership in higher education. Since 2016, she has taken students to San Lucas Tolimán, Guatemala, as part of the Office of Global Engagement's Global Solidarity Program, an initiative that fosters cross-cultural learning, mutual respect, and community collaboration. Dr. Jones and her family were the recipients of the John S. Martinez Community Service Award from the Columbus House (2024) for support of their mission to end homelessness. Dr. Jones was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the New Haven/León Sister City Project.
Dr. Jones brings extensive cross-sector experience to her academic leadership. She has held leadership roles in the nonprofit and healthcare sectors, including Vice President at Feed The Children and Director of Management Engineering and Decision Support Services at Commonwealth Health Corporation. At QU, she contributed to the institution's strategic direction in emerging technologies as a Co-Chair of the AI Curriculum Subcommittee. Her work reflects a deep commitment to building partnerships that bridge academia, industry, and community impact.
