Director of Field Education - Social Work

Katherine Sallaku, MSW, LCSW, serves as the Director of Field Education and Clinical Associate Professor in the Master of Social Work (MSW) Program. In this role, she provides strategic oversight of all field education operations for both on-ground and online students, ensuring compliance with CSWE accreditation standards and the program's mission. She leads initiatives to expand field partnerships, mentors faculty and field instructors, and chairs the Field Advisory and Community Outreach Committee. Her leadership reflects a deep commitment to advancing student learning, professional growth, and community collaboration.

A licensed clinical social worker in Connecticut since 2013, she brings extensive experience in clinical practice, field education leadership, and higher education. Her clinical background spans pediatric and adult oncology, psychiatric emergency services, and trauma-informed care. Professor Sallaku's current work focuses on clinical supervision, field instructor training, and organizational consultation to promote inclusive, equitable workplace cultures. She is an active member of the New England Consortium of Field Education Directors (NECON) and presents nationally on trauma-informed field education, integrated practice models, and workforce pipeline development.
