Fritz Staudmyer received his BA from New York University and his MFA from Columbia University in film with a concentration in screenwriting. He went on to work as a story analyst for Walt Disney Studios on the lot in Burbank. He has also worked on two Nickelodeon shows, Bucket and Skinner's Epic Adventures and The Troop, and has written short films that have screened and won awards at numerous festivals around the globe, including: The Friars Club Comedy Film Festival, LA Comedy Shorts, New Orleans Film Festival, Madrid International Film Festival, Sitges, and The Cannes International Film Festival. Fritz was selected as an Albert Schweitzer fellow and as an alternate candidate for a Fulbright Scholar award. Recently, he wrote additional dialogue for the film American Carnage, which will be released theatrically and via streaming service in 2022. He has also written a biopic about Orson Welles, Too Much Johnson: A Mercurty Theatre Production, and a biopic about Ernest Hemingway, Isn't it Pretty to Think So, which he researched in situ in the Austrian Alps in conjunction with a course he taught at the University of Innsbruck on Hemingway. Most recently, he revised two pilots with LatinX bents, Makul and Jaguar Blood, for a production company in Los Angeles. Those pilot scripts are currently being shopped. His next project, Dolasilla of the Dolomites, is an animated film about a warrior princess, which is set in the Dolomite Mountains and based on the ancient Ladin epic poem, The Kingdom of Fanes.
