Filippo Naitana

Professor of Modern Languages

Filippo Naitana grew up in Oristano, Italy. A graduate of the University of Florence and Yale, he is author of the poetry collection Viceversa (2021). His poems and literary translations have appeared in The Massachusetts Review, Journal of Italian Translation, Italian Poetry Review, La Repubblica, NuoviArgomenti.net, as well as the multilingual volumes Writers Between Worlds (2021) and Selected International Poetry and Prose by Chinese and Foreign Pen (2021). His scholarly interests include Dante and the classical tradition and the Renaissance in a Mediterranean context, and his research has been published in journals such as Archivio storico italiano, Dante Studies, Quaderni Medievali, and Rivista di letteratura storiografica italiana. At Quinnipiac he is Professor of Modern Languages and Director of the Italian program.
