Ewa Callahan

Ewa Callahan is Associate Professor of Communications. She holds a Ph.D. in Information Science from Indiana University, as well as an M.A. in history from Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. Dr. Callahan's teaching and research interests relate mainly to the areas of international and intercultural communication, social informatics, children and media, scholarly communication, and human-computer interaction. She has published articles in journals such as Annual Review of Information Science and Technology and Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication and actively presents at national and international conferences. Before coming to Quinnipiac she worked as a systems analyst at Technology Service Corporation, as a researcher at the German National Center for Information Technology and as a reference librarian at Saint Joseph College. Born and raised in Poland and having lived for extended periods in Vienna and Bonn, she is a polyglot, interested in the role the Internet plays in connecting people from different countries and cultures.
