Professor of Occupational Therapy

Donna Latella is a Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy. Over her 29 years at Quinnipiac, she has taught a variety of courses including: Health Conditions, OT Adult Process, Research, Capstone, Service Learning, as well as Fieldwork coordination.

Donna's OT practice began in adult hospital settings in the areas of acute care, trauma, rehabilitation, outpatient, homecare, and dysphagia. Her passion, current practice, and scholarly endeavors are focused on OTs role in insomnia and Animal-Assisted Services.

Donna holds certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for insominia in OT, Therapeutic Riding Instruction, Hippotherapy, and is a Equine Mental Health Practitioner. She is currently looking forward to earning a certification from the Equine Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA). Her small private practice focuses on Equine-Assisted Services in the community where she welcomes student engagement. Her therapy dogs, Wyatt and Gelato, often accompany her to campus.
