David R. Hill, MD

Professor of Medical Sciences

Director, Global Public Health Program

Dr. David Hill is the Director of the Institute for Global Public Health (GPH). He is a founding member of the School of Medicine, joining the faculty in 2012, and helped establish an undergraduate minor in GPH in 2013. He teaches in the areas of GPH and infectious diseases, and works to identify local, national and global educational opportunities for Quinnipiac students. During the COVID-19 pandemic he is serving as the Senior Medical Advisor to the University for COVID.

Prior to joining Quinnipiac, he was Director of the National Travel Health Network and Centre (NaTHNaC) in London and Honorary Professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. As Director of NaTHNaC he collaborated widely within the UK and internationally to develop standards for travel medicine.

Dr. Hill is an editor of Hunter's Textbook of Tropical Medicine and Emerging Infectious Diseases and has contributed more than 175 articles and chapters to the medical literature. He just completed nine years as Secretary Treasurer of the American Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene, the largest society in the world advancing science and clinical care in global health and tropical medicine.
