Catherine G. Takizawa

Associate Teaching Professor of Biology

Catherine Takizawa, PhD, was born and raised in California. She is currently an Associate Teaching Professor of Biology and Coordinator and Advisor of the Accelerated 3+1 Biology/MCB Program. She completed her PhD on RNA Polymerase II transcription in the lab of Dr. Jim Kadonaga at UC San Diego. Her post-doctoral research focused on control of cell division in the lab of Dr. David Mogran at UC San Francisco. Her teaching focuses on general biology, cell and molecular biology and stem cell biology.
