Adrienne J Betz
Professor of Psychology
Director of the Behavioral Neuroscience Program
Adrienne is a Professor of Psychology at Quinnipiac University in the Behavioral Neuroscience Program, with an affiliate appointment in the Department of Medical Sciences. She joined QU in 2009 after working as a post-doctoral fellow at Yale University in the Division of Molecular Psychiatry at Ribicoff Laboratory. She earned her B.A. in psychology from the University of Connecticut and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology/Behavioral Neuroscience from the University of Connecticut. Dr. Betz teaches many courses in psychology including Physiological Psychology, Drugs Brain and Behavior, Behavioral Neuroscience Research Methods, and a departmental capstone course for majors. Dr. Betz's research focuses on the study of the brain, particularly molecular, cellular, and behavioral neurobiology related to stress and inflammation and has been supported by the prestigious NARSAD Young Investigator Award and other funding. Dr. Betz is a member of the Society for Neuroscience, Faculty for Undergraduate Neuroscience and other related organizations. She is an organizer of the NEURON conference held at QU every February, www.quinnipiac.edu/neuron.
