Choose the Application Plan That Works for You

If you are applying as a military service member or veteran, we highly encourage you to apply as a transfer student so that we can adequately capture all your transferable credits from military service and training and/or prior college coursework.

If you are applying using U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefits that were transferred to you by a family member, you should apply based on your current status:

  • If you are a senior in high school, apply as a first-year student.
  • If you have earned college credit after graduating from high school, apply as a transfer.

Application Process

We recommend applying as a transfer student if:

  • you are a service member
  • you are a veteran
  • you had VA Education Benefits transferred to you from a family member and you have earned college credit after graduating from high school

Transfer students may apply for either fall or spring semester admission. The admissions committee reviews transfer applications once they are complete. Completed applications for the spring term are reviewed starting in late October; applications for the fall term are reviewed beginning in February (after prior fall term grades are received). We recommend you apply earlier than the dates listed to be considered for the program of your choice.

How to Apply as a Transfer Student

1

Apply

We encourage you to use your application essay to summarize your experiences and why you would like to attend Quinnipiac.

Fall applicants: We strongly recommend you apply for transfer admission for the fall semester by April 1, but we will accept applications up to the beginning of classes. The Common Application closes in mid-July, but the Quinnipiac Application is available beyond that date. The following programs have earlier deadlines and are only open for fall semester transfer:

  • January 13: Deadline to apply for the Accelerated BS in Nursing program. Please use the Quinnipiac Application for this program. Applicants must already have a bachelor’s degree to apply. This program only accepts applicants for the fall semester.
  • March 1: Deadline to apply for transfer to BS in Nursing and BS in Radiologic Sciences programs; the radiologic sciences program consider transfers only for the fall semester each year on a space-available basis. Nursing transfers are considered on a space-available basis for both fall and spring semesters.

Spring applicants: We strongly recommend you apply for transfer admission for the spring semester by November 15, but we will accept applications through January 12.
