Entrepreneurship Academy: From Classroom to Corner Office

Want to start your own business or help an existing business grow? We've designed a summer workshop for high school students interested in innovating and launching new business ideas. Over the course of the week, students will learn about problem solving and ideation, critical thinking, team dynamics, leadership, research and validation of ideas.

Overview

Ready to take your business to the next level? In this one-week summer program, students will learn and explore the powerful tools and techniques successful businesses use every day. Delivered by our School of Business faculty, topics include a introduction to business planning using a lean business model canvas.

At the end of the program, you’ll walk away with:
  • Analytical and entrepreneurship skills to make you feel more prepared for college and the world of business.

  • At least one new business idea and a foundation for pursuing it.

  • Improved business presentation skills and gained confidence in public speaking.

After exploring the game design process through real time activities and projects, it’s time to launch your game into reality as you become your own entrepreneur! Students must declare if they plan to attend for either the residential (overnight) experience or the commuter experience at the time of registration. Register and pay in full by January 15, 2026 to secure $100 off the cost of attendance.

If you are not paying in full at the time of registration, you must submit a non-refundable $250 deposit to reserve your spot for 30 days. Any student who places the non-refundable deposit must pay the full remaining cost of the program within 30 days from the date of deposit to be enrolled in the program.

Program Dates and Schedule

July 20, 2026 - July 24, 2026

Sample Schedule: This is only a sample schedule and is subject to change due to a variety of factors.

Time Activity Detail
9 a.m. Morning Meetings and Skill Concept Introduction Introduction of the skill or concept focus of the day such as: business fundamentals, creativity, project management, presentation skills, etc.
10 a.m. Build Your Skills Participants have a chance to learn by doing, whether working in teams on challenges, brainstorm business ideas. Learn to develop applications, develop a business plan, collaborate, research and more
Noon Lunch Break All meals are included for students.
1 p.m. Apply Your Skills We take the concepts and skills learned in the morning and apply them to the ongoing project and goal of delivering high-quality participant-driven business ideas to move towards actual start-ups
3 p.m. End-of-Day Review and Debrief Meeting A chance to reflect and discuss the day as well as look to the days ahead.
4:30 p.m. Break/Commuter Student Dismissal Organized activities and a break for residential participants. Commuter students are dismissed to go home.
5 p.m. Dinner Dinner will be provided for those students with full room and board.
6 p.m. Organized Activities (Group Recreation, Games, Guest Speakers, Independent and Group Enrichment Projects) Evening is reserved for overnight students to have fun, experience our on-campus amenities, and bond with each other and staff through organized group enrichment activities.
10 p.m. Quiet Time  

Participation Requirements

Participants must be current high school students. Typically, participants are between the ages of 15 to 18 years of age at the start of the program. 

Equipment and Materials

Quinnipiac University will provide all required materials, including laptops, for students within this program. Students are welcome to bring their own laptops or other devices for use outside of instruction periods or with the approval of their instructor.

Program Costs

Option 1: 1-week overnight program from Sunday to Saturday. Includes full room and board as well as evening and weekend activities: $1,800

Option 2: 1-week on-campus commuter program from Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Includes lunch daily: $1,500

All options include:

  • One week of faculty-designed and delivered programming, administered online or on campus with educational support staff and program materials

  • Technology and software support

  • A Quinnipiac T-shirt

  • A digital badge for use on social media, resumes or portfolios

  • Access to special Quinnipiac Admissions events

Discounts and Financial Aid

Partial financial support may be available for those who indicate the need for financial assistance in their online application. Financial support awards are based on a combination of financial need and academic merit.

Accommodations
