Dr. Marie Hardin was selected as Quinnipiac University’s 10th president effective July 1, 2025.
Hardin was previously a distinguished academic leader, dean and professor at the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications at The Pennsylvania State University.
The announcement of the new president was made on Thursday, January 30, by Board of Trustees Chairman Chuck Saia ’91, MBA ’94, following unanimous approval by the university’s Board of Trustees.

In August 2024, President Judy Olian announced that she would be stepping down in the summer of 2025. The Board of Trustees announced the Search Committee to identify and recommend the next president.
Quinnipiac set out to seek a strategic and visionary leader energized by the opportunity to lead a national university on a strong, upward trajectory. The next president has the opportunity to shape the future of the university with an entrepreneurial Board of Trustees and an engaged community that embraces new ideas and innovative educational programs. The next president will build on the university’s current momentum and strong foundation to lead Quinnipiac to its next chapter of success and national recognition. In September 2024, the university retained Spencer Stuart, a global executive search firm, to assist in finding the next president.
Throughout the process, the Search and Advisory Committees solicited feedback from the community through various community listening sessions, surveys and interviews.
