Bobcat Bound Newsletter: May 29, 2025
Orientation is Just Around the Corner!
Our first Orientation session kicks off in less than two weeks — and we are so excited to welcome you to the Quinnipiac community!
If you have not already registered for our mandatory first-year Orientation, please do so by June 2.
Starting college is a stressful process. We get it — and we are also uniquely positioned to help you shake out some of that anxiety.
Here are a few things that might make you feel a little better:
Each of our first-year and transfer Orientation sessions are organized and led by Quinnipiac students who were in your shoes not that long ago
Each session is carefully designed with your journey in mind
You will be part of a small group of new students led by two dedicated student leaders known as Orientation Leaders
Throughout your session, we will help you:
Register for your fall courses
Learn about resources and services offered at Quinnipiac
Understand some of our most cherished Bobcat traditions
Connect with other incoming students and their families
Change can be scary, but please know you are not alone in this process. You were carefully selected to be a Bobcat because we are confident you will fit in well with our Bobcat family.
You will have questions throughout your journey — at Orientation and beyond — and please ask them. We are here for you, every step of the way!
Students will register for the Fall 2025 courses during their orientation sessions. Students will work with their academic department to schedule their courses. Course selection sheets will help guide you in planning your schedule.
As a Quinnipiac Bobcat, you will be steps away from 175+ unique student-run clubs and organizations. Whether you are a commuter or residential student, we've got you covered. The Commuter Student Union, your Resident Assistant and your Orientation Leader are all here to help you!
Throughout the coming weeks, we will highlight different aspects of the student experience that define the Quinnipiac experience. Among the highlights of the Quinnipiac experience:
Academic Groups
Honors Societies
Cultural, Spiritual and Identity Groups
Fraternities and Sororities
Religious Groups
Service Groups
Political and Advocacy Groups
Student Media Groups
Government and Programming Boards
Spirit Groups
Arts, Entertainment and Multimedia Groups
Recreation and Wellness Clubs
23 Club Sports Teams
Don't want to wait? Learn about our student-run clubs and organizations now
We have communicated to students who applied to the Grove/LLCs of their admittance into the specialized housing communities.
This was a very hard decision as there was a significant number of applications for these programs.
A communication to those who didn’t get selected will be receiving information on our waiting list process AND encouraging those not accepted to The Grove to live in an LLC. More details to come.
Please reach out to LLC@qu.edu to express interest in joining or with questions.
Madison Fahlborg '24, MS '25, knew that Quinnipiac was the place for her after touring our campuses. However, a unique sign seemed to confirm that she made the right choice as she looked at her mom and told her that this is the place she would earn her bachelor's and master's degrees. Learn more about that sign
Madison, who just completed her master's degree and plans to move to Los Angeles this summer, just returned from the Cannes Film Festival. Check out her experience here
The Gallagher Student Health Insurance Portal is now open to all students to waive or enroll in student health insurance. All students must maintain medical insurance throughout their time as a student at Quinnipiac.
Enroll: The university offers a health insurance plan designated for students through gallagherstudent.com/quinnipiac which provides coverage for illness and injuries that occur on and off campus. It also includes dental and eye coverage up to age 26.
Waive: Students may waive the Gallagher health insurance coverage if they present evidence of other health insurance, including coverage under a parent’s or guardian’s plan. The plan must provide equal or greater benefit coverage to that of the Gallagher student plan.
Health insurance charges appear on all invoices by default. Students have until August 31 to waive the health insurance; if no action is taken by August 31 they will be enrolled in the plan. Students who opt out of the Gallagher student plan will find the charge removed from their invoice within seven business days. Insurance waivers approved after June 11 will generate a credit on the student’s account.
Please act now: Students must either choose to opt in or opt out of health insurance.
Quinnipiac has five terms each academic year (Fall, January-term, Spring, Summer I and Summer II), and students are billed separately for each term. We are currently preparing for the Fall 2025 term.
Billing for Fall 2025: Notices that invoices are available will be sent to all students and their proxy (parent, guardian, spouse or other individual) on or around Monday, June 16.
Payment Due Date: Tuesday, July 15
Students may authorize a proxy to have access to Self-Service to make payments on behalf of the student or to view grades. In addition, authorizing a proxy also allows the appropriate Quinnipiac faculty and staff to discuss relevant matters with the proxy. The student may authorize a proxy to all or a subset of the following:
Student finance information
Financial aid information
Academics (final grades)
Tax information
Notifications (receive email notifications on the above)
Quinnipiac offers payment plans to help meet educational expenses. These plans are available for the fall and spring terms on a semester-by-semester basis and can be set up for up to five monthly payments per semester.
The payment plan is not a loan program. There is no debt; there are no interest or finance charges assessed, and there is no credit check.
The cost to budget the interest-free monthly payment plan is a $75 nonrefundable enrollment fee per agreement.
For the Fall 2025 term, two payment plans are offered:
2025 Fall UG/GR (Auto-Adjust) – this plan covers the student’s full balance due and will automatically adjust if the amount owed changes. Therefore, if financial aid is applied the balance due on the payment plan will automatically adjust. This adjustment can lead to an increase or decrease of the monthly payment plan. The remaining balance due will be split among the remaining payments.
2025 Fall UG/GR (Fixed Balance) – this plan allows the student to determine the amount to pay via the payment plan. To make any adjustments to the amount after the first payment is due, the student needs to email the One Stop office.
Payment Plan Installment Dates for Fall 2025:
July 15
August 15
September 15
October 15
November 15
Information for the 5-month Spring 2026 Payment Plan will be offered with receipt of the spring semester invoice later this year. Payment plan registration is required each term. There are no payment plans for the January, Summer I or Summer II terms.

The first step in joining the residential community is to complete the housing application. The housing application is available to you on MyHousing, and all residents must have a completed application to receive a room assignment. You can access MyHousing through Q-Start or directly at qu.edu/myhousing
When you sign off on the contract, you will be directed to the lifestyle questions that we use to match roommates. Please be sure to answer all the questions, even if you plan to choose your own roommate.
If you are under the age of 18, parental verification is required for your application/contract to be complete. Your parent/guardian will receive an email to the address you provided for your emergency contact to verify and complete your application. Your application is considered incomplete, and you will not be able to move forward in the housing process until the parent/guardian verification is complete.
Please note that Hotmail, OptOnline, iCloud and me.com addresses often reject messages that come from the housing database. We recommend using a Gmail address or other personal/business address to receive the verification.
The verification email is sent immediately after you submit the application. When your application has been submitted, a copy of the housing contract will be emailed to you.
Explore first-year housing options
Incoming first-year students may select one or three roommates. Students choosing three roommates will be assigned as a group in the Commons or Ledges.
Students are encouraged to discuss their answers to the lifestyle questions on the housing application with their potential roommate(s) to help determine if they are compatible and can create a positive living experience.
Roommate requests will be accepted from June 2 through July 2.
All roommate requests must be mutual, which means requested roommate(s) must confirm the request to be assigned together by July 2.
Selecting one roommate does not guarantee assignment in a double room. Roommate pairs may be assigned in quads with another matched roommate pair.
Students participating in The Grove experience or an LLC must choose a roommate from other participants in their program.
There will be separate roommate selection processes for students in these groups. The Grove and LLC requests will supersede roommate requests.
Students who sign up for The Grove or an LLC and plan to pick a roommate that is not same program will be matched and assigned with another participant.
Housing assignment and roommate information will be available on MyHousing on August 1.

You and your family will receive the Bobcat Bound newsletter each Thursday through the first week of classes. It will help guide you through the process of becoming a Quinnipiac student — from approaching deadlines to opportunities of engagement, involvement and pride.
The next couple of months will be busy and a little bit stressful — but that is where Q-Start comes in. It is carefully designed with you in mind. It takes the uncertainty away from the on-boarding process and will let you know what you will need to complete and when. Email qstart@qu.edu with any questions.
We're excited to introduce our three new student ambassadors who will answer your questions throughout your journey to becoming a Bobcat. Leticia, a rising junior, Eve, a rising sophomore, and Kayla, a rising sophomore, who are available at qstart@qu.edu. Please note that specific inquiries about nuances of individual Q-Start steps should first be directed to the respective points of contact listed. New students get to know them, they are here for you!
There's a lot of exciting opportunities headed your way this summer — most of which will come through your Quinnipiac email. Be sure to set it up and check it often. We also recommend adding it to your phone.
