When Maria Keegan ’27, MS '28, an advertising 3+1 accelerated dual-degree major, realized there was a lack of representation and recognition for women passionate about sports, she created something that would connect women with similar interests and amplify their voices across our campuses.

She founded the Women’s Sideline Society at Quinnipiac, with the goal of creating a supportive community for women who are passionate about sports.

The club plans to host panel events, guest speakers, portfolio-building opportunities and more.

Keegan described the executive board as “powerful, creative and an inspired group of women” saying she specifically looked for those qualities when selecting an e-board.

These women believe that Women’s Sideline Society “is more than just a club, it’s a sisterhood built on shared passions, mutual support and genuine connection," she said.

In the next year, Keegan’s goal is to build strong relationships with industry professionals and athletic departments, as well as work with members to gain confidence, experience and a strong network that will help them pursue careers in their chosen fields of interest.

“Ultimately, we want the Women’s Sideline Society to be known as a leading voice for women in sports at Quinnipiac, fostering empowerment, connection and professional growth,” Keegan said.

This is only the beginning for the Women’s Sideline Society, she said.

The student-run organization is seeking new members who share the same passions.
