Talha Khan joins Quinnipiac as an assistant professor of mechanical engineering, with an expertise in thermal-fluid sciences, materials engineering, fluid mechanics and advanced manufacturing.
Khan earned his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Wichita State University, where his research was funded by NASA, and he taught courses related to thermal-fluid engineering, manufacturing and materials science, computational engineering, and mechanical design. Khan also earned a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Florida International University.
Khan’s research focuses on advanced additive and smart manufacturing processes, more specifically laser-based additive manufacturing and a novel high-voltage press sintering method for developing efficient thermal management systems in aerospace applications.
Khan is most excited about the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative learning environment that emphasizes hands-on, interdisciplinary education while advancing impactful research bridging academia and industry.
Cameron J. LaMack is joining Quinnipiac from Cleveland State University after earning his Ph.D., and working as a graduate research assistant.
LaMack’s research focuses on neuroprosthetics, more specifically the goal of restoring arm and hand function to people who are paralyzed from a high spinal cord injury with the use of targeted electrical stimulations to create functional arm movements.
As an assistant professor of mechanical engineering, LaMack is excited to help guide the next generation of intellectually curious, talented and compassionate students.
Ron (Rongyu) Lin joins Quinnipiac from Clark University, where he served as a visiting assistant professor of computer science.
Lin’s research explores artificial intelligence for science and engineering, computational materials, and cross-domain applications in finance, healthcare and education.
Previously, Lin was principal data scientist at Capital One and earned his Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, as well as a master's degree from Santa Clara University. His publications appear in leading journals and conferences, including Nature, Nature Communications, Journal of Materials Chemistry C, Journal of Physics and ACL.
Soumyashree Sahoo joins Quinnipiac from University of Connecticut, where she earned her Ph.D. and worked as a research assistant.
Sahoo’s research focuses on digital health and ubiquitous computing, with expertise surrounding machine learning, deep learning, data science and smart and connected health systems.
Sahoo looks forward to being able to work closely with students, colleagues and the broader community to foster inclusive and innovative learning experiences while advancing cutting-edge research as well as contributing to the growth of students.
