“I am incredibly honored and excited to be named to MSLG,” Tristani said. “In this role, I will strive to connect medical students worldwide with interests in cardiology to research opportunities, clinical mentors, and, most importantly, to each other.
“After serving as the first president of the Netter School of Medicine’s Cardiology Interest Group this past year, I look forward to applying what I’ve learned on an international level and creating many future opportunities for Quinnipiac’s medical students to connect with others around the world,” said Tristani.
The exclusive program selects future leaders in cardiovascular medicine, offering mentorship, professional development and opportunities to shape the field. Tristani’s dedication to scholarship, service and leadership within the cardiology community was recognized with this honor, placing him among the top emerging physician-leaders in the world.
“While I am highly interested in pursuing a career in internal medicine and cardiology, I am most excited about the fact that I have two years of medical school remaining where I will have the incredible opportunity to learn about the passions of healthcare professionals in many different fields and how they connect to one another,” Tristani said. “I am beginning the third year of medical school, in which I will rotate through several different clerkships and gain exposure to many different patient populations. I am extremely excited to apply the experiences over the past two years in a clinical setting and work alongside like-minded healthcare professionals to benefit any patients I have the privilege to meet.”
He said he wants to become a doctor because “a physician represents the perfect opportunity to combine scientific thinking, interpersonal communication and a desire to consistently grow to bring light into the lives of my community.”
"Anthony’s selection to the American College of Cardiology’s Medical Student Leadership Group is a testament to his remarkable initiative, leadership and commitment to advancing cardiovascular care,” said Dr. Phillip M. Boiselle, dean of Quinnipiac’s School of Medicine. “We are proud to see him represent Quinnipiac Netter as a member of this prestigious leadership group.”
