He’s been playing baseball as long as he can remember and began his academic career as undeclared. Seaburg sought out advice from his peers and mentors when he finally realized that he would declare his major as advertising and integrated communications.  

“I am happy with the choice I made because my major has allowed me to gain experience in every aspect of the communications field,” Seaburg said. “ I’ve dabbled with a wide range of classes such as advertising, film production and journalism but was given the ability to specialize those classes with my sports studies minor.”   

He was also welcomed into Tau Delta: Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Association’s Honor Society for his academic success. One of his favorite classes was film production because it allowed him to reach his creative potential.  

“I have really gained a lot of real-world experience through the cinematic production management program. I have had the opportunity of learning the software, processes, and procedures which take place in the production industry. I hope to continue this growth as I continue my degree working towards my master’s.” 

A major piece of his college career has been the people he is surrounded by. He has baseball practice every day and is inspired by his coaches, teammates and trainers.  

“I have learned to take life one day at a time, focus on being consistent day in and day out and the results will take care of themselves,” Seaburg said. “Being surrounded by 35 like-minded people fosters an environment that forces me to be a better person and I can’t thank my teammates enough. The memories I cherish most are the little things, the bus rides, the team meals. To me what makes my stay at Quinnipiac the best are the people I’ve surrounded myself with. Having 35 guys all with the same goal leads to a culture that is contagious. Always pushing each other to be better versions of ourselves on and off the field.” 

While having a heart full of comradery, he serves as one of baseball’s representatives on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and in this role he organizes events such as Boo Bash where local Hamden kids come to campus and participate in activities such as trick or treating and games. The committee hosts more events throughout the semester and Seaburg serves as a voice for his team when communicating with athletic administration.  

For incoming freshmen, Seaburg encourages students to meet as many people as possible. 

“College is filled with people from all walks of life, all different backgrounds, with different futures ahead of them. This is the time to be making impactful memories and I am grateful to have worked with an awesome team.”
