The workshop will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at CCAT’s Digital Thread Lab, located at 222 Pitkin Street, Suite 101, in East Hartford. This interactive program will be led by Amy Paros, associate professor of management at Quinnipiac University, who brings expertise in guiding organizations through complex change.
To participate, manufacturers must first complete CCAT’s MBD Awareness Training no later than Tuesday, Dec. 2. The workshop costs $200 per person, and upon successful completion, each participant will receive a Credly digital badge issued by CCAT to recognize their achievement.
“Model-Based Definition isn’t just a tech upgrade—it’s a business imperative for manufacturers working with OEMs and defense contracts,” said Amy Thompson, chief technology officer at the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology. “This partnership with Quinnipiac University brings manufacturers the practical tools and leadership strategies they need to manage change effectively, adopt new processes, and stay competitive in a fast-moving digital landscape.”
Paros said, “Transitioning technologies can be a major shift for manufacturers. Change is important and particularly challenging for smaller companies that may not have dedicated resources.
“This program is focused on supporting that technological leap by continuing from the MBD technical foundation to deliver the leadership and change management skills necessary for success.”
The program’s curriculum emphasizes experiential, application-based learning and is designed to foster strong connections among participants. By bringing together manufacturers from across the region, the initiative aims to create a collaborative network that supports innovation and long-term success in digital manufacturing.
