Get to Know our Honors Program

Our Honors Program gives you intellectually challenging coursework and purposefully designed experiences that enhance your day-to-day college life while building a foundation for both personal and professional success.

In our curriculum, we challenge students to think about the process of knowing, and in particular to explore “not knowing,” by investigating our assumptions, our knowledge and what is presented in any class. Our signature courses help us practice curiosity and critical thinking by exploring identity from a wide variety of angles that are both familiar and unfamiliar. This coursework is supplemented by signature experiences that bring students to less conventional, but very engaging, sites for immersive learning.

Honors Program first-year students will be moving in to their residence halls on August 20. Honors Program Orientation will be on August 21. Specific information will be emailed to students in the Honors Program.

Information will be emailed to first-year students in November about applying. Applications for students not already in the program will be due in January.

We welcome you to reach out with any questions you have about the Honors Program at honorsprogram@qu.edu

Apply for an On-Campus Work Position

Quinnipiac students work in virtually every corner of our three campuses, developing tangible skills and a strong network.

There are two primary types of employment opportunities on campus:

  • Federal Work-Study Jobs: Federal work-study jobs are funded by the federal government and are available to students who have received a federal work-study allotment as part of their Financial Aid package. Students earn their allotment in biweekly paychecks by working a federal work-study job on campus. Students must apply to available federal work-study job openings and interview to secure a federal work-study role. See available positions

  • Non-Federal Work-Study Jobs: Non-federal work-study jobs are funded entirely by the university and are available to students who did not receive a federal work-study allotment as part of their Financial Aid package, including international students. Students must apply to available non-federal work-study job openings and interview to secure a role. See available positions

  • Quinnipiac Dining Study Employment Positions: There are on-campus student employment opportunities available across our campuses for students — both domestic and international. Apply now

Read a story, written by one of our federal work-study students, about working on our campuses.

And fun fact, federal work-study students are the backbone of this weekly Bobcat Bound email

If you do not have federal work-study and believe you are eligible or just want to check if you are eligible, please contact financial aid at finaid@quinnipiac.edu.

Have You Looked at Your Housing Assignment?

Room and roommate assignments were posted on MyHousing.

You should have received an email with a link to sign up for your move-in timeslot. Please sign up ASAP.

Residential Life will begin making room changes on a space-available basis starting September 8. In the meantime, you are encouraged to get to know your current roommate/s, arrive on campus with an open mind and take advantage of the many resources available to support your transition to Quinnipiac.

Be Sure to Check Your Quinnipiac Email Regularly — and Be Rewarded!

As the start of the new academic year approaches, you will be receiving an increasing amount of important information to prepare you for your Quinnipiac journey. It is important to check your Quinnipiac email regularly. To help you get in the habit of checking your email, upcoming issues of Bobcat Bound will include prompts with incentives to open your Quinnipiac email to read Bobcat Bound. Respond to this email from your Quinnipiac email, answering: How do you define “community,” and what kind of community do you hope to build here? Those who answer will be entered to win a Bobcat prize pack.

Why You Chose Quinnipiac

Last week, we asked you why you chose Quinnipiac, and we felt inspired by your answers. Here are a few:

I chose QU the minute I stepped foot on campus; nowhere else gave me the sense of family and community I felt while being at Quinnipiac. I feel free to be myself here and discover the many opportunities this school has to offer while I am taking this exciting but challenging leap, to leave my home and start my college journey here at what already feels like the best place to grow and excel fully.

— Theresa Semaria '29

I chose Quinnipiac because of the 3+1 program and the beautiful campus! I felt at home the second I stepped onto the Mount Carmel campus, and being able to graduate with my master's degree in 4 years made Quinnipiac a no-brainer decision.

— Daniel Greff '28, MS '29

I picked Quinnipiac because I wanted to attend a college that made me feel confident in the education I would receive.

— Tristin Thomas '29

Congratulations to Theresa Semaria for winning this week's prize pack!

What to Pack

Living in Quinnipiac housing means you'll have all the resources you need to be successful.

You will be welcomed by our helpful team of students, who will help move all your belongings into your new room on your first day.

We've prepared a list of what you will need to pack to make your space your home, as well as important dates regarding move-in and hall closings.

Mark Your Calendars For Move-In

Keep track of all the important dates for residence hall openings and closings during breaks, as well as schedules for move-in and move-out for the academic year.

All students will receive a link to sign up for a move-in time slot on their designated move-in day.

Students participating in August Orientation should plan to move in on Wednesday, August 20.

Meal Plan Changes Available

Meal plan changes are open through August 30.

Students can change their meal plans on MyHousing by clicking Meal Plan Changes, then Dining Plan. Change the term to Fall 2025, then select the new plan and click Purchase Plan.

Please note that the cancelled plan will display highlighted in green with a ghost icon next to it. This indicates that the plan is cancelled. The active plan is listed on top and is not highlighted.

Avoid Move-In Day Delays and Upload Your ID Photo Today

As you prepare for move-in, please remember to upload your photo for your QCard as soon as possible. This is an important step to ensure a smooth check-in process when you arrive.

Students who do not upload their photo in advance will experience delays during move-in. Your QCard grants you access to your residence hall, meal plan, and other essential campus services.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to campus.

Course Registration is Now Open

Registration is now open for students wishing to make schedule changes. If you wish to make a schedule change, you can do so in your Self-Service account. If you need any assistance, please email registrar@qu.edu

If you are trying to get into a closed course, you may contact the school or college at Quinnipiac that is offering the course. Learn more about course registration

Important Dates to Know

For important dates, please see our academic calendar

Introducing Common Hour

To help you more easily attend key academic and student experience events at the university, we are excited to introduce a weekly Common Hour this fall!

Held every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. on our Mount Carmel Campus, this dedicated time — free from scheduled Mount Carmel classes — is designed to foster community engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration and meaningful student support.

We are confident that it will enrich our academic environment and strengthen connections across campus.

One of the primary reasons we established Common Hour was to better engage commuter students and accommodate their schedules, enabling more commuter students to be more engaged on campus.

The first event on Tuesday, August 26, has intentionally been aligned with a showcase of the South Quad; this new space has enabled the integration of a common time into the Mount Carmel academic schedule.

This will be the official community celebration of the South Quad opening, with an opportunity to tour the facilities. All students, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend as we welcome you and celebrate the start of a new academic year together!
