From Oct. 21–22, Bobcat Challenge 2025 will once again unify Bobcat Nation behind Quinnipiac’s 21 Division I teams and spirit groups, by driving in impactful donations to help student-athletes excel while also achieving academic success.
During two fast and furious fundraising days, more than 450 Quinnipiac student-athletes will channel their competitive spirit into Bobcat Challenge 2025, by asking alumni, parents, students, faculty, and friends to support team-specific matches and challenges.
“I really appreciate everyone who donates,” Renton said. “It is incredible that we’re able to go to these different places, play these amazing players and get the opportunities that we do.”
Renton is the reigning 2025 MAAC Rookie and Player of the Year, helping Quinnipiac women’s tennis to win its eighth MAAC conference title last season.
“Without our donors, we would not be able to do half the things we do. We really appreciate them. They’ve made my experience at Quinnipiac much better,” said Renton.
Last year, Bobcat Challenge 2024 raised more than $1 million to support the success and well-being of Bobcat student-athletes.
“The unwavering support from everyone throughout Bobcat Nation for our teams and more than 450 student-athletes is inspiring,” said Greg Amodio, director of athletics. “This level of support allows our teams to continue to compete at the highest levels — both academically and athletically.”
Funds raised by the women’s tennis team helped Quinnipiac women’s tennis coach Paula Miller finance Renton’s 2025 ITA All-American trip to North Carolina and to accompany her at the tourney.
“We’re playing at a higher level, so to play against top players in the nation and go into the ITA All-Americans in North Carolina was a good opportunity. But to do these high-level national tournaments, we need to raise money in order to go,” said Miller. “We’re going to be going to San Diego in a couple weeks because Willow won the MAAC Masters too. Bobcat Challenge helps with the money we need to get there, because its money we don’t have in our budget.”
Funds raised by the team also help to support many other ambitious goals for the program, Miller said, from building up season-readiness with spring break training to traveling to tourneys where the Quinnipiac name is getting noticed.
“At ITA All-Americans, when I was walking around, people from all over the U.S. and different schools would see the ‘Q,’ and knew us from the Quinnipiac Poll. So when they see the ‘Q’ it definitely puts our name out there to all these other schools and players,” said Miller.
As the caliber of Quinnipiac women’s tennis continues leveling up, more and more Bobcat singles and doubles players are traveling to compete in high-level tourneys each year, said Miller.
Thanks to support from Bobcat Challenge dollars, such exposure will continue to help strengthen the team’s growing reputation and leverage recruiting opportunities, said Renton.
“We have great players at Quinnipiac, and I feel being able to go to these great competition opportunities and to travel to different places is really good for college recruiting,” Renton said. “Because they see us out there, the recruiting gets better and better each year.”
Bobcat Challenge 2025 donations will help all Quinnipiac teams and spirit groups supported to fuel excellence and inspire future generations to don the Bobcat uniform. To make a donation, visit QU.edu/bobcatchallenge2025
