"I am honored to receive this award,” Mattie said. “This organization is a valued partner to me and Quinnipiac in training the next generation of healthcare leaders. I am humbled by this honor and look forward to many more years of their advice, wisdom and commitment to future generations."
Mattie is a board member of the Connecticut Association of Healthcare Executives and was part of the group that founded the QU-AHE chapter. Kimberly Lumia, ACHE Regent for District No. 1, Connecticut, immediate past president of CTAHE and chair of governance for CTAHE, presented Mattie with the award.
“Angela checks all of the boxes in a major way,” Lumia said. “She is always available to aspiring and future healthcare leaders as a mentor and constantly reminds us to focus on what the student needs are and how to be relevant to all members, especially students who graduate and enter the healthcare field.”
Holly Raider, dean of Quinnipiac’s School of Business, added, “This is a well-deserved recognition for Professor Mattie. She is a trusted advisor and mentor to healthcare leaders and champions her students' success by ensuring they are well-rounded healthcare professionals ready for dynamic and challenging careers."
Mattie is a professor in the School of Business and Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine. She was the founding chair of the department of healthcare management and organizational leadership and is the co-coordinator of the medical school health management leadership concentration. She also created a corporate compliance certificate program and received the International Compliance Award for contributions to the field of healthcare compliance.
From 2019 through 2020, she was named Health & Aging Policy Fellow and served as a fellow in U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro’s office during her awarded sabbatical. Prior to Quinnipiac, she served as a Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow for the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.
Mattie serves on several boards. She is also the 2012 recipient of the Distinguished Faculty and Advisor Award from the ACHE and the 2013 recipient of a Center for Excellence in Teaching Award from Quinnipiac.
