“It is both an honor and a privilege to have been elected to serve as president-elect for the Association of Educators in Imaging and Radiologic Sciences,” Stewart said. “My past and current experiences have afforded me the opportunity to become a nationally recognized leader in both the imaging and radiologic sciences and imaging informatics, having served my profession at a variety of levels in both areas.”
Stewart said she sees AEIRS advancing the imaging and radiologic science profession through its unyielding focus on academic excellence, research and innovation and dynamic influence of educators in a multi-disciplinary community.
“I embrace the opportunity to serve AEIRS members, fellow imaging and radiologic science educators and to work alongside dynamic professionals while becoming an integral part of AEIRS’ vital future,” she said.
Stewart, who has been a member of AEIRS since 2015 and is currently the board’s secretary/treasurer, will hold a three-year term, serving as president-elect for 2023-24, president for 2024-2025 and chair of the board for 2025-26.
Janelle Chiasera, dean of the School of Health Sciences, said, “I am so proud of Kori for being elected to this role and in leading an organization of educators advancing academics, research, and innovation in imaging and radiologic science. Having Kori part of this group will have far-reaching benefits for our students, faculty, and our programs.”
Stewart earned both her master’s degree in medical laboratory sciences and her bachelor’s degree in diagnostic imaging from Quinnipiac. She joined the university as a full-time professor in 2022 after serving as an adjunct faculty member on and off since 2010.
