Inspired by advocating for the environment and teaching others, she began her law journey.
Through her time at Quinnipiac, King learned how to be confident in her extensive knowledge.
“I came in feeling like a total outsider, and I’m leaving feeling like I truly belong in this profession. That kind of transformation doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It happens when you’re surrounded by people who see your potential and help you rise to meet it,” said King.
King’s journey began when she left high school after the 10th grade. Driven by her passion, she earned her GED at 30 years old, went on to complete a bachelor’s degree in biology and eventually made her way to Quinnipiac Law.
Through her time in Quinnipiac, King built upon the lessons she had developed as a science teacher to gain the confidence necessary to command a courtroom. King credits her confidence to the supportive and welcoming actions of professors at Quinnipiac.
“I can’t say enough great things about the faculty, administration and staff at Quinnipiac Law,” said King. “The professors at Quinnipiac have a real talent for pushing students to think critically and approach problems the way lawyers do.”
King's passion and perseverance got her to where she is today.
King is taking the advice she learned from her professors at Quinnipiac and bringing it to her new position as a law associate for Wiggin and Dana.
“I’ve been given a lot of great advice at Quinnipiac, but the one message I’ve gotten again and again is to speak with confidence,” King said. “Don’t let yourself get too easily ‘tilted from your horse’ just because someone challenges your position. That’s part of being an advocate: holding your ground, even when the ground feels shaky.”
By staying true to her passions, trusting in her own capabilities, and pushing through challenges, King made her Quinnipiac education into a successful career built on service to others.
