The annual event — supported by alumni, faculty and staff — culminated on Saturday with a 10-hour dance marathon and reveal, celebrating the $125,039.67 raised through a series of innovative fundraising challenges that began last semester.
"I am so glad to have been able to hold QTHON again in person this year — for the first time since 2019," said Marley McClure '22, executive director of QTHON and a nursing major. "We are super fortunate to have had miracle families, who are patients at Connecticut Children's, attend as well."
The student-led event asked that each student raised at least $134, representing the number of patients currently at the hospital.
Each hour, students led choreographed dances celebrating different themes — and even faculty and staff got into the spirit, leading their own dance routines.
The money raise will be used to fund everything from patient care resources to technology and research.
The event has become a loved tradition at the university, and raised more than $1 million over the past decade.
Hartford HealthCare, which recently announced a Pediatric Care Alliance to provide the children and families of Connecticut with the highest level of coordinated medical care, is a strategic partner of Quinnipiac.
