Now, a professor of international business for 20 years at Quinnipiac, Engle has been selected as a recipient of the Center for Excellence in Teaching award.

After obtaining his master's of professional studies from Quinnipiac, Engle was able to acquire a senior management position with a major international corporation. While staying in contact with the university over the years, Engle decided to pursue his passion for teaching when a full-time position opened up.

Engle’s efforts as a professor have proved to go above and beyond and were part of the reason Kaelin Murray ’22, MA ’23 decided to come to Quinnipiac.

“I made the decision to commit to Quinnipiac after attending one of the school’s admitted students days,” said Murray. “Part of the reason for my commitment after this event was because of how impressed I was by Dr. Engle’s presentation on behalf of the International Business Department. He was well-spoken, knowledgeable and had an admirable career that included abroad experience. As I heard him speak about the endless opportunities for travel and learning, I knew that Quinnipiac was the right place for me to grow into a young professional.”

Winning this award is the honor of a lifetime for Engle and he hopes that his efforts can positively impact his students, he explained.

“I hope I can contribute to not only their career success in whatever field they choose but that they move forward in life with self-confidence as well as knowing that their critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which I together with my colleagues here at Quinnipiac worked to develop, will continue to successfully guide them through all of life’s challenges,” said Engle.

For those looking to follow in his footsteps and explore careers in education, Engle says that the rewarding feeling and satisfaction will exceed all the effort expended.

“Seeing a student successfully develop, write, submit, have accepted and present a research paper at a significant academic conference, it really does not get much better than that,” said Engle.
