International business professor presented with endowed professorship

Perlroth professor inbusiness recognizes his longstanding and unwavering commitment to Quinnipiac's mission to prepare students for meaningful careers and lives,” said Holly Raider, dean of the school of business. “He is a tremendous champion for our students and an esteemed member of our community.”Elahee, who joined Quinnipiac as a professor of international business in 1999, was delighted to receive an endowed professorship.
“I am extremely honored and humbled to be named as the William S. Perlroth professor of business,” Elahee said. “I will aspire to uphold the trust and promise that come with this prestigious professorship.”
William S. Perlroth was a member of Quinnipiac’s Board of Trustees from 1952 until his death in 1998. He served Quinnipiac with distinction as vice chairman of the board in 1956, chairman from 1965 to 1971 and chairman emeritus from 1971 to 1998.
The son of Adolph Perlroth, himself chairman of the board from 1934 to 1951, William S. Perlroth joined the faculty as a part-time professor in 1935. Throughout his 63-year affiliation with Quinnipiac, Perlroth demonstrated an unwavering devotion and commitment to the university.
Elahee earned his doctoral degree from the University of Texas Pan-American and an MBA from the University of New Brunswick-Fredericton, Canada. He also has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Dhaka University, Bangladesh.
In addition to teaching in several countries, including Bangladesh, China, France, Egypt and Mexico, Elahee was a U.S. Fulbright professor in Jordan in 2018. A recipient of multiple teaching excellence awards, Elahee primarily teaches international negotiation and international business. His research intersects culture and various aspects of business.
A widely published author, Elahee serves as a reviewer for the U.S. Department of Education and multiple journals. He is also actively involved with the Hamden Rotary Club, Columbus House and the Albert Schweitzer Institute. He also advises the university’s chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma, the business honor society, the international business society, Rotaractc club and microlending club.
“This honor recognizes Elahee’s outstanding contributions to research, teaching and service in international business,” said Robert Yawson, professor of management and chair of entrepreneurship and strategy. “He is a dedicated scholar whose work has advanced our understanding of key issues in global strategy, emerging markets and international entrepreneurship. His teaching passionately imparts this knowledge to our students, preparing them for success in today's interconnected world. His service on committees and professional societies ensures his expertise benefits the broader academic community."
