To our QU community,

As we celebrate Black History this month, we must pause and also speak out against the recent violence against members of the Asian-American and Pacific Islander communities across the nation. Throughout the pandemic, Anti-Asian rhetoric has increased and, in some cases, has sadly led to violence. These communities have been targeted due to xenophobia, racism, and misinformation. This must not be tolerated.

We state in our 10-Point Plan to Advance Racial Justice, “collectively, with forceful and concerted actions, we can bring about change in our own communities — and within our own institution — by advancing equity, inclusiveness, and anti-racism as cornerstones of who we are at Quinnipiac.” An inclusive society embraces every demographic group, every sexual orientation, and every form of human difference because bias against one is bias against all. We will continue to exercise our values and implement our action plans to nurture a campus community and greater society that is a better place for us all.

If you witness inappropriate behavior against any member of our QU community, you are encouraged to submit a Bias Incident Report using our online form.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stated, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere,” so we stand in solidarity with the Asian-American and Pacific Islander members of our Quinnipiac community, near and far. We stand against hatred in all forms.
