Author of "Quinnipiac A to Z", Dan Sullivan ’13, reaches the next generation of students through a children’s book.

When Sullivan and his wife Gabriella ’15, were looking for gifts for their friend's baby shower, they were inspired to gift something about their shared personal experience at Quinnipiac University.

The concept was born during a brainstorming session between Sullivan and his friends who wanted to create a fun spin on the alphabet using their alma mater.

“We always talk about how nice campus is and we wanted to make alumni feel like they were back on campus when they read to their kids,” said Sullivan.

The fun-witted book creates lines about every letter of the alphabet including pages like “On ROCKY TOP, everyone does the Bobcat ‘ROAR’ to cheer on their team," representing the letter "R".

The Sullivans credit Quinnipiac’s professors with playing a role in their journeys. Dan highlights Sean Duffy, executive director of the Albert Schweitzer Institute, professor of political science, as both a mentor and a friend while Gabriella thanks Professor Andrea Obston, who she tends to guest lecture and for her guidance throughout her time at Quinnipiac.

Sullivan plans to work with A to Z Publishing to create more witty children’s books with his wife and friends. "Quinnipiac University A to Z" is available online or in person at the Quinnipiac bookstore.
