Gwen Wirger, owner of Campus Confections, said Quinnipiac has a special place in her heart for a very special reason — one of her first clients was a Bobcat.
She had delivered cookies to a student named Olivia as a back-to-school treat.
“Olivia came up to the table and said, ‘What! You're here!’ She remembered me,” Wirger said excitedly.
Yvonne Evans, owner of Stella’s Polish Pottery and More, came to Quinnipiac to showcase her intricate Polish pottery, wallets, ornaments and bags.
Stella’s Polish Pottery and More is located just minutes from campus — making it convenient for students to help her business develop marketing strategies.
“The students gave me a bunch of ideas for social media, as well as how to effectively branch out into the community and helped me create punch cards," she said. "They were fabulous. I had goosebumps. It was the best experience I ever did and they said the same thing.”
Other popular local businesses like Eli's on Whitney and Naturaw Smoothie Bar & Cafe visited to showcasde what they have to offer students.
